F.A.Q.
Q: What does ‘sinodefence’ mean?
A: This domain name actually contains two words: ‘Sino’ which means China, and ‘defence’. If possible we definitely would like to use a more memorable name such as Chinadefence but most of the domains like this have already been registered.
Q: Did you mistype your domain "sinodefense" as "sinodefence"?
A: No. In British English it is spelled as defence rather than defense in American English. This website is written in British English.
Q: Is ‘Sino’ an insulting appellation when used to refer to China?
A: No. ‘Sino’ has been used in many occasions to refer to China, particularly in international relations. It is a natural word and is neither insulting or offensive, one example being the Chinese state-owned petrochemical company, whose English name is SINOPEC.
Q: Are you sponsored by the Chinese Government?
A: No. This is a commercial website and we do not have any link with the Chinese Government or military authority
Q: Why can't I see the images in some pages?
A: There have been several incidents where people use “hotlinking” to display our images on other web sites. “Hotlinking” is a form of bandwidth theft and results in excessive traffic and memory usages on our server. It affects our service and causes financial losses for us. When images are being “hotlinked”, we have no choice but to remove the image(s) from our server.
