The 113th (Light) Mechanised Infantry Division was formed in 1948 as the 113th Division of the 38th Corps. The division saw some impressive actions, particularly during the 1950s Korean War. Like other divisions in the 38th Group Army, the 113th Division has always maintained high readiness and standard of training.

The 113th Division was originally an infantry division, and became a “Northern Type Class-A Motorised Infantry Division” (truck-mobile) in 1984. In 2004, the division began its transformation into a “Light Mechanised Infantry Division”, equipped with ZSL92 series wheeled armoured fighting vehicles.

Headquartered in Baoding, Hebei Province, the 113th Division is currently composed of two light mechanised infantry regiments: 337th and 338th, an armoured regiment, an artillery regiment, and an AAA regiments, all of which are stationed in Baoding.
