Over 30 vessels, aircraft and helicopters from the PLA Navy, Navy Reserve, State Oceanic Administration, Maritime Safety Administration, and militia maritime rescue and medical forces participated the exercise.
The exercise began at 13:00 hours local time on 3 September. The troops carried out five operations, including “joint maritime reconnaissance and early warning”, “joint sea control”, “joint at-sea anti-submarine warfare”, “joint mine countermeasures warfare”, and “joint search and rescue”.
