Wochi class coastal minesweeper hull 805 (Chinese Internet)

The PLA Navy is currently constructing a new type of mine countermeasures vessel  (MCMV) known as Wochi class in its NATO reporting name. The ship appears to be slightly larger than the Fushun class minesweeper built in the 1960s~1970s. The ship is armed with a Type 76F twin-37mm AAA gun located on the bow deck. Influence (acoustic and magnetic) mine sweep systems and a crane are installed on the stern deck.

The first-of-class Zhangjiagang (hull No.805) was launched at Shanghai-based Qiuxin Shipyard in 2006 and commissioned in 2007. A second vessel Jingjiang (810) was commissioned by the East Sea Fleet on 9 November 2007.
