Description: The Type 381 radar jointly developed in the 1980s by four institutes and factories in Shnaghai and Xi’an was first deployed on the Type 053K Jiangdong class FFG (on top of main mast). It was PRC’s first indigenous 3D air search radar with multi-target processing capability, emplying the frequency scanning technique. The improved variant Type 381A developed by 724 Institute in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province was deployed on the Type 051G Luda class DDG (on top of rear mast). The radar has a maximum detection range of 300km and can process 80 targets simultaneously.
