Recent Internet photos show that an unknown type of all-terrain mobility platform (ATMP) is currently in service with a PLA special operations force (SOF) unit in Chengdu Military Region. Similar vehicles are widely seen serving with many Western countries for a range of roles including transport, re-supply, medical evacuation, etc. The vehicle is amphibious, and can be carried inside a medium-size helicopter such as Mi-171 for air mobility. The vehicle has a low ground pressure, which allows it to cross rough terran and water obstacle. The vehicle has a weapon mount which can be fitted with a 12.7mm machine gun or 35mm grenade launcher to provide mobile fire suppot.
