The QW-4 (QianWei-4, or Vanguard 4 in its export name) is a shoulder-launched surface-to-air missile first revealed during the 2002 Zhuhai Air Show. The missile features an infrared imaging seeker for improved performance. The missile is capable of all-aspect attack and has strong resistance to enemy flares and solar/ground heat. The missile is also fitted with a laser proximity fuse for improved accuracy against small flying target such as the cruise missile. The missile is currently under development.
